“Worship is not an event, it’s a lifestyle.”

The Worship Ministry of Underwood Baptist Church exists to exalt Christ and encourage the saints by leading music and worship that is Christ-honoring, heart-lifting, and Spirit-filled. Worship at UBC is designed to lift up the name of Jesus and stir the heart of His children to a deeper love and affection for Him. Our style of worship is blended as we borrow from a rich tradition of hymns and many of today’s new songs. Our passion is that people would leave our corporate worship experience excited by the Good News of Christ!

John 4:23-24 says, “But an hour is coming, and now is, when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. God is spirit and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

The heart of our Worship Choir is to continually strive to be “true worshipers” as we work together to lead people to the throne of Christ through music. Our choir is made up of wonderful people whom God has used greatly to encourage, support, and minister to our congregation.

So do you like to sing? You don’t have to be a professional to be a part of our group. All we’re looking for is people who enjoy making “a joyful noise” (Ps. 66:1) and are willing to serve. Our choir meets on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm in the Choir Room. For more information just come by and check out one of our rehearsals on Wednesday nights.

What a gift it is to be able to play a musical instrument! Did you play in the band or orchestra in high school or college? Have you had private lessons or been a part of a community or organizational band? Do you have access to the instrument you have played? Then the UBC Instrumental Ensemble is the place for you.

Our ensemble rehearses on Sunday mornings at 7:30 am in the Worship Center and on Wednesdays from 7:45-8:15 pm. The ensemble is responsible for worship leadership and accompaniment every Sunday morning and provides accompaniment for the congregation and for the choir. The only requirement is that you have played your instrument for at least 3 years and can play at a moderate level of difficulty.

We believe children are a gift from God. In His grace and mercy God has given us the pleasure of teaching children about the various ways we can bring praise and honor to Him. An important part of our praise is expressed through music. At Underwood, we love leading our kids in worship and enjoy the blessing of allowing them to lead us in worship during special events throughout the year.

KIDz PRAISE is for all kids in the 1st-6th grade and typically meets in the fall and spring on Wednesdays at 5:30 pm every other week in the Choir Room. Contact the office for information about how you can get your child involved.
